In 2018, Derval O’ Rourke and Greg O’ Gorman set out to develop a leading wellbeing platform in Ireland.
In 2023, Derval and Greg evolved their ambition to develop the world’s most welcoming active lifestyle club.

Derval O’Rourke is a former professional track athlete who
represented Ireland in sprint hurdles, and attended three Olympic Games with
a career highlight of being crowned World Champion 2006 in Moscow.
During her earlier career as an athlete, Derval attended UCD where she held a sports scholarship between 2000 and 2004.
Derval graduated with a BA Honours degree from the college in 2003 and a Diploma in Business Studies from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business in 2005. She also holds an MA Business from Smurfit Business School.
After the Olympic Games in 2012, Derval attended the Dublin Cookery School. The combination of the skills she gained here and her experience as a professional athlete inspired Derval to write a healthy cookbook called Food For the Fast Lane, which became a number one bestseller and was followed up by her equally successful second book The Fit Foodie.

Greg O’Gorman is the former Group Marketing & Ecommerce
Director for the Kilkenny Group with over 20 years of industry
experience. Greg was responsible for all elements of marketing and
brand development, and led a team of professionals to make the
Kilkenny brand a household name and one of Ireland’s
leading retailers.
After completing his Business Degree from MTU, Greg completed an MBS in Business Strategy from the Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business. Greg is the grandson of successful entrepreneur and founder of Blarney Woollen Mills, Christy Kelleher, and is following in his grandfather’s footsteps through his nomination as a finalist in the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2014.
Greg, along with Co-Founder Derval O’Rourke, set up DHR in 2018 trading as Derval.ie which has had over 18k members.
In 2023, Irish Olympian and former World Champion Derval O’Rourke together with co-Founder Greg O’Gorman announced the official launch of their new workplace wellbeing platform called ‘SAOL’ which will focus on the provision of active wellbeing solutions for Irish and International businesses.
Greg is grandson of successful entrepreneur and founder of Blarney Woollen Mills, Christy Kelleher, and is following in his grandfather’s footsteps through his nomination as a finalist in the prestigious Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2014.
Greg, along with co-founder Derval O’Rourke, set up DHR in 2018 trading as Derval.ie and they launched Saol in 2023 to bring together busy people who want to look and feel their best and to become more active through our welcoming and supportive community.
The importance of a welcoming community, connection with others in today’s hectic world and of genuinely supporting each other to feel better is something that inspires me everyday
