Derval O’Rourke is a former professional track athlete who
represented Ireland in sprint hurdles, and attended three Olympic Games with
a career highlight of being crowned World Champion 2006 in Moscow.
During her earlier career as an athlete, Derval attended UCD where she held a sports scholarship between 2000 and 2004.

Derval graduated with a BA Honours degree from the college in 2003 and a Diploma in Business Studies from the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business in 2005. She also holds an MA Business from Smurfit Business School.

After the Olympic Games in 2012, Derval attended the Dublin Cookery School. The combination of the skills she gained here and her experience as a professional athlete inspired Derval to write a healthy cookbook called Food For the Fast Lane, which became a number one bestseller and was followed up by her equally successful second book The Fit Foodie.

As a busy working mum, I feel really passionate about helping people find achievable ways to live a healthier lifestyle
